The purpose of this book is intended to
serve as a handbook for consulting and explaining the Treaty of
Lisbon.
In it, you will find the Charter of Fundamental Rights, which
becomes legally binding after the entry in force of the Treaty
of Lisbon. In fact, this Treaty consists of two Treaties,
presented in their consolidated versions: the Treaty of the
European Union (TEU), and the Treaty on the functioning of the
European Union (TFEU) and the protocols and declarations.
There is also an appendix of legal bases for codecision as the
normal legislative procedure of the European Union.
We hope that this presentation will facilitate the understanding
of these basic Texts that reflect the innovative and labyrinthal
complexity of the process of constructing Europe as a pioneer
democratic organization in the globalized world. |
